3.19. A chain and asterisks - removal and installation

Removal
1. Remove a forward cover.
2. Turn off bolts of a natyazhitel, a boot and an uspokoitel, remove these details (photo).
3. Reject a bolt and remove a cam-shaft asterisk (see above).
4. Remove a chain.
5. Remove a maslootrazhatel, a gear wheel of the drive of the oil pump, and the leading asterisk (photo).
6. Check a condition of teeths of asterisks, having compared profiles of teeths on both parties. At detection of a kryuchkovatost of teeths of an asterisk replace.
7. The chain changes together with worn-out asterisks, or through each 48000 km. The chain also should be replaced at detection of signs of wear of rollers.
8. Establish an asterisk on a cam-shaft and check its axial side play which should not exceed 0,2 mm.

9. Check a condition of a natyazhitel and uspokoitel, if necessary replace.
Installation
10. Turn a cam-shaft so that valves of the 1st cylinder were closed. Install the crankshaft so that the piston 1 - го the cylinder was in VMT.
11. Establish uspokoitel.
12. Establish a maslootrazhatel, a gear wheel of the drive of the oil pump, and the leading asterisk on a crankshaft sock. Make sure that adjusting tags on the leading asterisk are turned (photo) forward.
13. Before installation of a chain the turn of the crankshaft is not allowed.

19.14a On the Z24i engine the chain link with distinctive coloring has to be combined with a tag on a cam-shaft asterisk, and the adjusting pin of a cam-shaft has to come into an opening at number 2

14. Dress a chain on a cam-shaft asterisk, then get on the leading asterisk. Tighten a cam-shaft asterisk bolt. At assembly keep in mind the following:
а). The spline of the crankshaft has to be turned up.
б). Chain links with distinctive coloring have to be combined with tags on asterisks and settle down on the right if to watch in front (photo).
в). The adjusting pin of a cam-shaft has to come into an opening in an asterisk at number 2 (photo).
15. Establish a natyazhitel, adjust the provision of the left uspokoitel so that the gap between the case of a natyazhitel and a boot was absent (photo).
16. Establish a forward cover.
