17:26. Safety cushions - general information
Additional security system which contains safety cushions, inertial sensors and the block of diagnostics are established on cars since 1996. The system is intended for protection of the driver and the passenger on a front seat in case of collision, at an angle to 30 ° concerning a car axis. The pillow with a pneumatic system is mounted in the center of a steering wheel. Therefore, in order to avoid accidents because of casual operation of a pillow, on these cars it is forbidden to remove a wheel without shutdown of system in car service.
