8.12. Starter replacement of brushes
Starter without reducer
1. Remove a starter and the traction relay.
2. Remove a back sealant (photo).

3. Get a lock ring and a persistent washer.
4. On a back cover unscrew two screws of the brush holder.
5. Turn out coupling bolts and remove a back cover.
6. Get the brush holder (photo), take away springs and get brushes. If height of brushes is less than 12 mm, then unsolder them and solder new.
7. Collect a starter upside-down.
Starter with a reducer
8. Remove a starter and the traction relay.
9. Turn out coupling bolts (photo).
10. Remove a back cover, without having damaged a ring.
11. Separate from a cover a yoke assembled with an anchor and the brush holder.
12. Take away springs and get brushes from the brush holder (photo), unsolder and solder new (if height of brushes less norm).
13. Collect a starter upside-down.
