13.2. General information
The drive of back wheels of cars 4x4 and 4x2 is identical. The running gear of cars 4x4 differs only in the drive of forward wheels (photo). The transfer case is strengthened in a back part of a case of transmission and transfers the rotating moment to forward and back wheels via driveshafts. Rotation on forward wheels is transmitted through the reducer containing the main transfer and differential, and half shafts. On forward wheels self-locking naves through which rotation from half shafts is transmitted to a wheel are established, or the wheel rotates in the free mode.
